Summertime in Texas is usually too hot and too dry and this year it was worse than ever; literally, because the temperatures set all kinds of records. We took a short respite and went with our daughter and her family to the Smoky Mountains. It was so pleasant to see the many flowing streams, waterfalls and lush green vegetation. As we toured the Great Smoky Mountains National Park we took many photos in the popular Cade’s Cove and Roaring Forks area and traveled to Clingman’s Dome to capture some of the iconic mountain scenes with the numerous layers. We saw several different animals but the bears simply didn’t cooperate and show themselves while we were there. Even so, it was a perfect vacation from summer in Texas. Some of the photos are in the Misc. Landscape gallery. For more images, visit this link.
