Wisconsin Road Trip – September 2013

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Carolyn Whiteside @ 1:15 pm

Bobby wanted to do some fishing for smallmouth bass coupled with me photographing some fall foliage in the upper Midwest areas of Wisconsin and Michigan.  So, we (including Lyndi Lu, our dachshund) headed up that way for a little over two weeks.  On the way, we made a few roadside stops to photograph barn, farms, covered bridges, etc.  We stayed at a cabin on Little Crooked Lake which is one of many small lakes in the Northwoods of upper Wisconsin.  Bobby hoped to catch a smallmouth over 5 pounds and he did that the first morning on Pesque Isle Lake.  We fished other small lakes, went to Copper Falls State Park, saw a few nice spots with fall color, then went down to the Green Bay area and fished Sturgeon Bay.  While there we found several lighthouses in Door County to photograph.  We completed the fishing journey by going to the Great Lakes area where he fished the famous Lake St. Clair in Michigan and returned via Kentucky Lake.  A road trip it was . . . 4600 miles covered by the time we returned home!!  By the way, Lyndi Lu was an awesome, well behaved traveler.  When you take a look at the photographs you will see a wide variety of images.  Check them out here:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/9194742@N06/sets/72157636502589894/
